The Unofficial Start of Summer

Happy Memorial Day, everybody! The unofficial start of Summer is finally here! While many of us still work all summer, it’s nice to spend our weekends exploring, adventuring, and having a good time with friends and family. Sometimes we like to throw a bit of relaxation in there to change things up a bit, hehe.

We went to Shark Fin Cove in Davenport, CA on Saturday and spent a solid 3 hours searching for sea glass in the sun. Our hard work paid off; I found some red, blue, and even a purple piece! I’m working on creating a sea glass rainbow for my window sill.

Sunday, we went to the Presidio in San Francisco for the Picnic at the Presidio. We were celebrating a birthday in the family and it was so much fun!

Links for my outfit: top and pants from Old Navy, cross-body bag is Kate Spade (an outlet steal!), scarf is from Urban Outfitters (old), and clogs are from Lotta from Stockholm.

Isn’t it beautiful at the presidio? I love brick buildings so I was pretty much in heaven! When I saw this house, I had to snap a picture – brick, columns, white, windows, flowers… if I could move in today, I would!

At the picnic, there were tons of food trucks and stands, and it was hard to choose! I found myself wanting a bite of everyone’s food, haha – there was pizza, fresh-squeezed lemonade, Vietnamese food, Indian food, barbecue, and more. First, I grabbed some of the freshest lemonade I’ve ever had from Farm Stand Lemonade, it was perfect and a little bit tart, just how I like it!

Next, I headed to Del Popolo for a fresh Margherita pizza, so delicious… plus, their food truck was so cool to look at:

Very industrial chic. Their pizza was amazing, although a bit burnt on the crust, but considering they cooked it on the spot, I was impressed.

My love and I had a wonderful time celebrating his sister’s birthday and trying something new in the city!

Today, we’ve had more of a low-key day: we went to brunch and Marshall’s, and then we went for a long walk on West Cliff drive, where I stopped to admire the California poppies and Penny Lane tried to eat a bumblebee.

Based on her face, I think Penny has enjoyed the weekend! I hope you’re all enjoying this weekend – tell me some of your favorite summer activities in a comment below!

xoxo
