Adding a Meyer lemon tree to my garden was on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days (#84 of 101 in 1001, to be precise). So I’m glad to announce that I was given a Meyer Lemon Tree by my mom this month!
We planted it together as it was our first garden purchase after moving in together a year ago (!!!), plus I’m the one that’s really into gardening. Having our own tree feels special though, and Mister has been helping take care of it, which makes it all the more special.
I also sprinkled a little bit of My grandmother’s ashes into the soil to have a part of her in my new place. She had a giant lemon tree in front of her house when I was growing up, so having her ashes providing some nutrients to our baby tree makes me feel close to her as well.
Overall, I’m super excited to have our first tree and I know it’s the beginning of a small tree collection (we have limited space). But we love our tree and will take very good care of this one and more to come.
