Yosemite {Adventures}

During my Spring Break, my love and I headed up into Yosemite to check off another item on my 101 in 1001 list: “#71 Hike in Yosemite again,” and it was absolutely breathtaking. We went last year for mister’s first trip to Yosemite, but it was during full-drought-mode. This time, there was still snowpack on top of Half Dome and many of the other mountains, and the water really changed how Yosemite looked. Everything was so luscious and green, there were flowers everywhere, and the waterfalls were so much stronger!

Half Dome! My love wants to hike to the top, but I’m a bit more hesitant – I think we need quite a bit more hiking experience before we make the 17-mile-in-one-day trek, including the cables… And my fear of heights. It’s certainly beautiful to look at, though!

El Capitan is certainly one of our favorite spots to just stop and stare in awe. The granite monolith (it’s one giant rock) is so tall and you just feel so tiny looking at it. It’s one of the first things you see when you enter Yosemite Valley, and it’s a wonderful entrance.

We hiked to Mirror Lake from the Ahwanee Hotel (it’s technically “The Majestic Yosemite Hotel” now, but I refuse to call it that). It was about 4 miles round trip, so not too bad, and it’s right below Half Dome. This time, we found a little area where people had made several little piles of granite rocks, so we added our own to the collection:

We plan to go again soon and see more of the park, as Glacier Point was covered in snow so we missed out on it this time, but Yosemite is somewhere we would love to visit again and again!

What’s you’re favorite part of Yosemite? Tell me in a comment!

xoxo
