Hello beauties! 2019 is coming to a close, which means its time to say goodbye to this year, 2019. 2019 was beautiful, messy, adventure-filled, busy, and fantastic, and I will cherish it always. 2019 will forever be the year I got to marry my best friend, the love of my life, in Yosemite National Park. We enjoyed pre-wedding ceremonies with friends and family, and we’ve spent many of our days exploring, hiking, and being out in nature. It has been a gorgeous year, which makes me all the more excited for what 2020 has in store for us.
My first intention is to travel more. With our first over-the-pond trip (and Andrew’s first trip out of the country) planned, we’re off to a brilliant start. This year, we will spend two weeks exploring London, Paris, and Rome, and hopefully check one more national park off our list.
My second intention is to waste less. Traveling is inherently wasteful, especially flying – and this will be my first flight in almost a decade – so partially to offset that, and also because its one of my continuing and overarching goals for myself, I will buy less, go out to eat less, and try to buy with the least amount of packaging that I can. For me, this will look like less online shopping, less takeout, and more trips to the farmer’s market.
My third intention is to use my time wisely. I realized that in 2019, I spent too much time playing on my phone, and I want that to change this year. So, I will read more (my goal is 25 books, drop me a recommendation in the comments below!), draw more, knit more, and journal/blog more. The amount of time I had been using my phone could definitely be used for other, more creative pastimes, and I plan to do just that.
I cannot wait to see what gifts 2020 has in store for all of us, and I wish you the most peaceful, joyous, and adventurous year to date.
