Last weekend, Andrew and I had our engagement photos taken by our fun and amazing photographer, Ed Pulella. He is based in Southern California, but he is from Italy originally, so it was fun to show him around a new part of California – the central coast. We started off the day by heading to our favorite forest, The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park in Aptos. This is where Andrew proposed last November, on a crisp morning hike, next to a gently flowing creek – and it was magical and wonderful and better than I could have hoped for.
We revisited the same trail and headed down to our spot, where we began taking pictures. We frolicked by the creek, climbed into ferns and blackberry bushes (ow!), and kissed amongst the redwoods.
After a brief lunch break and wine tasting and tour at the winery where my love works, we headed down to Big Sur. We listened to music and enjoyed the sun-soaked views. We took Ed to McWay Falls, because he had never been before, and then we headed back up to Andrew Molera State Park, where we started our hike to the beach to take our golden hour beach photos.
We brought along a picnic basket, blanket, and a bottle of Korbel Champagne. We popped the champagne (after a healthy amount of shaking it up so it would spray when popped!) and then toasted to our future while the sun set in the distance.
We laughed and danced and kissed, and it was so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the rest of our photos and share them with our friends and family. More to come soon! And of course, I can’t wait for Andrew to become my husband next April!
